Most of the people get confused about what are the things need to be done to make their website live. Of course, there are multiple ways to make the website live.

Today In this blog I’ll explain how to make your website live using BlogSpot (Google Blogger) free of cost.

Custom Domain v/s Free Domain

There are two types of domains Custom and Free domain which are provided by Blogger.

  • Free Domain — Which is the default option in many web hosting sites some text is prefixed/suffixed with your domain for example — https://ohthattrick.blogspot.com/

Here you can choose any custom name I choose ohthattrick and .blogspot is automatically gets appended with your website name.

  • Custom Domain — For this, you need to purchase your desirable domain from some Domain provider websites like GoDaddy, hostintger, HostingRaja, etc. and then later on you can link to your website.

Steps to follow with free domain

  1. Signup and login to Blogger.com, Set Blog Title, and click Next. Choose your domain name and save the changes.
You can set any name you want for the blog

and that’s it your website with free domain is ready to use, now you can post your content there on the portal.

Steps to follow with Custom Domain

I assume you already purchased your custom domain to link with blogger.

  1. Repeat the above step 1st, which makes you ready your website with a custom domain, and be prepared with custom domain details.
  2. Go to Settings -> Custom Domain -> Add your purchased Custom Domain name in the dialog.

Note: You should need to add a domain with www as a prefix. otherwise, it will keep throwing error asBlogs may not be hosted at naked domains.”

3. The next step is to add some Domain A records to the C panel where you bought your domain. Below are 4 IP address records to add.

216.239.32.21
216.239.34.21
216.239.36.21
216.239.38.21

4. Next step is to add this CNAME Record in the control panel of your website:
Host: www
Target: ghs.google.com

5. That’s it, now just wait for some time approx 30 min, to reflect the changes you have saved.

Note: In order to redirect your http audiance to https you can turn on this settings as mentioned below in image.

If you enjoyed reading this and learned something new, please don’t forget to leave a clap or two, or three… 👏👏👏

Also, let me know if you stuck anywhere between the process in the comment box I’ll try to resolve your query.
